KIGALI - The Belgian Minister of Defence, Pieter De Crem, will visit the country next week.

According to the Defence and Military spokesperson, Lt. Col. Jill Rutaremara, the Belgian minister will meet and hold discussions with his counterpart, James Kabarebe.

"The two ministers will discuss issues of bilateral defence cooperation and the security situation in the region,” Rutaremara revealed.

The visit follows a meeting last year by Rwandan and Belgian officials in Kigali under the ‘Special Partners Committee’ framework, to jointly review progress on the bilateral cooperation.
