KIGALI - The visiting Executive Director of UNICEF Switzerland, Elsbeth Muller, on Friday, said that her organisation will continue providing both financial and technical support, to ensure that they fulfil their goals of educating and protecting Rwandan children.
KIGALI - The visiting Executive Director of UNICEF Switzerland, Elsbeth Muller, on Friday, said that her organisation will continue providing both financial and technical support, to ensure that they fulfil their goals of educating and protecting Rwandan children.
Muller, and her team, spent four days in the country, monitoring and observing how UNICEF funds are utilised.
"We a very happy with what we have seen in Rwanda, especially in education. Schools are good, I have seen professional teachers, children are provided with clean water, generally I am real impressed and I can say that we are eager to continue supporting the country,” she said.
Muller further noted that the country possess a bright future since the education system has been modified
"I was here in 1996 but when you compare with the current situation, there is a real big change.”
While in the country, the delegation visited various sites, including the Gisozi Genocide memorial centre, child headed households in Gatsibo, and Kinyinya’s child friendly school.
