EMERY Bayisenge remains a doubt for Saturday’s Caf U-17 Championship final between hosts Rwanda and Burkina Faso at Amahoro Stadium.

The inspirational junior wasps’ captain missed Wednesday’s semi-final 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast because an ankle injury sustained during Rwanda’s final Group game against Senegal.

When contacted, the team’s doctor Patrick Rutamu was reluctant to confirm if the central defender would be fit for the final.

"It’s hard to say if he will be ready for the final. It all depends on how he reacts to treatment but for now, he has a 50-50 chance of playing,” added Rutamu.

Heritier Turatsinze filled in well for the captain at the heart of the defense and made it hard for Ivory Coast strikers Evrand Jean Kouassi and Guy Bedi plenty.

Saturday’s game will be a repeat of the tournament’s opening fixture which Rwanda won 2-1.
