Atraco maintained their lead at the top of the national football league table after Sunday’s 2-0 victory over AS Kigali at Camp Kigali.

Amrosi Muyambi opened the scoring on the 40th minute before Alimansi Kadogo made it two in the 69th minute.

Atraco moved to 21 points, one point ahead of APR who moved into second place after their 1-0 win over Kiyovu.

The reigning champions who had a slow start to the 2007/8 league campaign secured the necessary points when Kiyovu’s Marcel Lomami netted in his own goal.

It was a very important win for Andy Mfutila’s side.

It was also Mfutila’s first league victory over Kiyovu.

Last year, the two sides shared after a 2-all draw in the first leg and a goalless draw in the second leg.

Else where, Marine failed to close in on league debutants Electrogaz after squandering an extra time penalty against Rayon Sport.

Marine’s Burundi’s international Diomed Ngabo hit the cross bar to keep Rayon Sport seven points off the chase.

At Shorongyi grounds, Electrogaz hammered Police 3-1 to move into seventh spot while Mukura and Military were held to goalless draws against Kibuye and Etincelles respectively.
