Editor,

Last week, Police announced that the crime rate had droped by 1.2 percent compared to the previous year. With such efforts I believe the Police can stamp out gender based violence, which seems to be common, especially in the villages.

If the drop in crime rate is a result of increased vigilance, one hopes that it will be useful in weeding out all criminals.
The Police are doing a good job and it should be supported by helping overcome the logistical challenges which normally dent institutions.
