FORMER junior wasps coach Hans Michael Weiss has been appointed head coach of the Philippines national football team. Weiss who left for the South Asian country yesterday told Times Sport, “I have signed a two-year contract with an option of renewing it for another two years.”

Weiss who left for the South Asian country yesterday told Times Sport, "I have signed a two-year contract with an option of renewing it for another two years.”
"I have done some scouting around Europe and I believe the country has enough talent to transform it into a formidable side,” Weiss, who has been Ferwafa’s technical director, added.
Weiss’ number one objective is to qualify the team for the 2015 Asia Cup which will be held in Australia
Weiss completed his bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and Management at the University of Mainz in 1995. He has also done internships with several high profile football clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, Kaiserslautern and Argentina’s River Plate.
