RUBAVU - Despite a winner take all contest between defending champions Gambia and Ivory Coast, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Issa Hayatou and several members of the CAF executive will grace the final Group B match that pits Congo Brazzaville against Mali at Umuganda stadium this afternoon.
This was confirmed by the Executive secretary of the Cocan Local organizing committee Emmanuel Bugingo.
"He will travel to Rubavu tomorrow (today) and watch the Congo-Mali match. He will also look at the newly refurbished Umuganda stadium,” Bugingo revealed.
Congo, Ivory Coast and Gambia are all in the reckoning for the two semi-final slots which are also a gate pass to the U-17 Fifa World Cup slated for June in Mexico.
Congo and Ivory Coast top the group on 4 points followed by defending champions Gambia on three points. Mali is at the foot of the group with zero points.
