RWANDA may have qualified for the 2011 Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico but overall, local football is still in doldrums following a further slump in the latest Fifa World rankings.
The country dropped two places from 132 to 134 while neighbors Burundi dropped 12 places to 140.

Ivory Coast and Benin, Rwanda’s other Group H opponents for the 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers, ranked 21 and 72 respectively.

Rwanda fell out of the top 100 in 2009 after a series of poor performances in regional and continental competitions.
Uganda, 83 and 20 in Africa, is still the best ranked team in the Cecafa region despite falling three places.

Sudan dropped eights places to 100, Tanzania follows in 120 while Ethiopia and Kenya are ranked 124 and 125 respectively

At the top of the rankings, Spain continues to the lead the way ahead of the Netherlands and Germany.
The rankings were largely determined by 35 friendlies played in the last four weeks.
