The Commissioner General of the National Prisons Services (NPS), Mary Gahonzire, has called upon stakeholders to always meet deadlines in implementing their annual action plans.

Gahonzire made the call on Tuesday during a meeting aimed at strategizing for the New Year.

The partners included clerics and other Non Governmental Organizations that work with the prisons in various capacities.

"I thank everybody here for your contribution towards changing the mindset of the inmates in several aspects, but I also encourage you to put in more efforts regarding your programmes because we still have a long way to go,” Gahonzire said.

She exhorted them to always send their annual reports on time in order to evaluate their achievements, and where necessary, advice them.

Gahonzire further told them to continue collaborating with the management of NPS in promoting the social welfare of prisoners and operation of prisons.
