Land should be shared equally

The recent move by the government of Rwanda to restrict residents in the Eastern Province from owning more than 25 hectares of land has come at such a good time.

The recent move by the government of Rwanda to restrict residents in the Eastern Province from owning more than 25 hectares of land has come at such a good time. It is really absurd for some few individuals to own hundreds of hectares while others can hardly find enough land to support their families. Those government officials who think they have the right to live at the expense of other Rwandans should think twice and as good patriotic Rwandans surrender those extra hectares for the good of the whole community. It’s clear that the way these people acquired these large pieces of land was not through the right channels and it because of this that the government has decided to come in. otherwise why would some one sell his land and go ahead to reclaim it?Land should be owned through the right channels, it is not a point of who you are and how much wealth you have accumulated, but how you come to own so much is what bothers the underprivileged. If these people got the land through questionable ways, then it is right and fitting for the government to retrieve the land from them.

What we have to know is that the land in Rwanda is something for all not for a chosen few.  We are a community and believe in owning this little land communally.
