Winning the opener is a good sign

Editor, First and foremost, congratulations to the junior wasps for winning Saturday’s game against Burkina Faso. It was a tough game but the boys stood up to the challenge and showed that they are of champion’s quality. After watching the encounter, I left the stadium confident that, if the boys stay together as a team and play the way they did, there is a lot waiting for Rwanda in terms of footballing success.

Editor,

First and foremost, congratulations to the junior wasps for winning Saturday’s game against Burkina Faso. It was a tough game but the boys stood up to the challenge and showed that they are of champion’s quality. After watching the encounter, I left the stadium confident that, if the boys stay together as a team and play the way they did, there is a lot waiting for Rwanda in terms of footballing success.

Being the first game, one would expect a bit of nervousness from the players, but that never showed at all. Of course, there were a couple of goal scoring opportunities that went begging, but that happens in football.

Now that the three points are in the bag, I have no doubt they can top their group.
