Eric Muvara is a journalist working with Radio Flash. Specifically attached to the news department, he says his day to day activities involve reading, research and going to the field for stories. Below is how he goes on with his work day;

I wake up at 6:30a.m, and use about 15 minutes to organize myself before I leave for work. By 7:30a.m, I am on my way from Kimironko, my workplace. Since work begins at 8:30a.m, I make sure that

I check on the internet before attending the morning meeting.

In the meeting which takes only 30 minutes, we share story ideas for the day. By 9a.m, I may either go to the field or prepare to read the 10 o’clock news.

If not, I may take on an assignment and the time I spend normally depends on that particular assignment. It may be investigative or even a press conference that takes less time.

Immediately after the coverage, I get to the office, work and submit the story before planning to have a meal at around 1p.m.

After lunch, I plan for the next day by reading to get more story ideas.

Although leaving the work place depends on what I have to do, most of the times I leave at 5p.m. At that time, I make sure I meet fellow journalists from various media houses. And this helps me to also get ideas them.

I however get home at 8a.m I spend time listening to the radio or watching a movies until 9a.m when I have supper. At 10a.m, I get to bed having said my prayers.
