2010 registered greater achievements compared to the previous years, with numerous concerts, launch of albums and awards.
Notably, ‘Jubile Revival Assembly’, ‘Hope Rwanda Festival’, ‘Women Foundation Celebration’, ‘Glory Celebration’, and ‘Afurika Haguruka,’ were the top of the cream.
The excellent albums launched included, Patrick Nyamitari’s ‘Niwe Mesiya’, Tonzi ‘Wambereye Imana’, Aline Gahongayire ‘Nzahora mbyibuka’, Jean Paul Murara ‘Nzaririmba’, Gloria ‘Nzayihimbaza’, Anella Rusaro ‘Inshuti idasanzwe’, Dominic Nic ‘Ari kumwe natwe.’
Various groups also dropped remarkable albums, such as, Momentous Singers ‘Yahweh’, Korari Urumuri ‘Ko twagukurikiye uzaduhemba iki?’ and Blessed Sisters ‘Ubuzima bufite intego’
Awards
Although, 2010 was generally a successful year to our gospel artistes, some outshone others.
Tonzi’s hit song ‘Humura’ won the ‘Best Caller Tune’ in ‘Ijoro ry’Urukundo’ awards, The Sisters won ‘Groove Awards’ in Nairobi, Kenya, while Dominic Nic’s ‘Ari kumwe natwe’ album was voted the ‘Best Album of the Week’ by Moriah Entertainment Group.
