Rwandans are not selfish
Editor, Allow me, through your paper, to thank the Ministry of Education for the generous action they have taken to waive the tuition fee for Haitian students. I was really shocked to hear some people, even from international media, saying that it was a wrong decision since financing of local Rwandan students has been reduced.

Allow me, through your paper, to thank the Ministry of Education for the generous action they have taken to waive the tuition fee for Haitian students.
I was really shocked to hear some people, even from international media, saying that it was a wrong decision since financing of local Rwandan students has been reduced.
To me, people who think in that way are more selfish than one can imagine. Do these people know that donor countries have debts themselves? Do they really know that Rwandan students get scholarships from countries whose own students need assistance. To me, people who think in this way, don’t reflect Rwanda’s generous culture.
Otherwise I thank the Honorable Minister of education for the clarification.
