RULINDO - The Mayor of Rulindo District, Justus Kangwagye, has set January 15 as the date for inaugurating the second phase of Nine Year Basic Education (9YBE) classrooms.

In an interview with The New Times yesterday, Kangwaje said that 85 percent works have so far been completed.
"In this phase, we are constructing 110 class rooms and 84 toilets in all the 17 sectors in the district,” said Kangwagye.

He added that the district’s vision is to construct extra classrooms to accommodate students enrolled in the schools until 2015.

"We are committed to reach this target with the help of partners like the Ministry of Education, UNICEF and religious organizations,” he added.

According to Emilienne Niwemwiza, Vice Mayor in the district, only one cell of Gahabwa in Tumba Sector has no secondary school, in the entire district.

"We have secondary schools in each of the 70 cells in the district,” said Niwemwiza.
