Editor,

I totally agree with what former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said about Rwandan President, Paul Kagame.

Like Blair, I find President Kagame an exceptional leader who has achieved alot.

It’s true that President Kagame wants the best for his country and his people.

Under him, Rwanda has continued to grow stronger and the Rwandan people are determined to disapprove their detractors.

I returned to Rwanda after ten years living in exile, and indeed, the country has been transformed and many people I have talked to testify to how their lives have changed.

Of course, challenges still exist but I believe there is an absolute will and determination by the people of Rwanda to double their effort and multiply what is already in place.

Another achievement is that the current government has been able to build a different society, one that rises above ethnicity.

Well, the journey is still long, but even for a cynic, the changes that have happened in Rwanda since 1994 genocide against Tutsi cannot be sneered at.

To me, President Kagame represents a charismatic African leader, who has brought Rwanda back from the dead to achieve economic development that many people could not have imagined.
