The Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Protais Musoni, has called upon the youth in Gatsibo district to work together and double their efforts towards the development of the district.

He made the call on Sunday, during a friendly football match between the youth from Kigasha cell in Ngarama sector (Gatsibo district) and their neighbours from Gitogota cell in Katabagemu sector, Nyagatare district.

The minister told the youth that Rwandans have developed the spirit of working together, which, he said is the reason the country is registering rapid development.

The Minister, who owns a home in Kigasha, challenged the youth to join hands and develop their district, starting from their sector itself. He is also the caretaker minister for Nyagatare and Gatsibo districts in the Eastern Province.

After the friendly match, Musoni the laid a foundation stone where a nursery school will be constructed in Kigasha Sector.

Musoni told the youth that all that remains is their commitment and will to accomplish construction of the nursery school, saying that other necessities are in place.

"With what we have already agreed, I am sure that this school will depend on your youthful energy to be completed very soon,” he said.

In a separate interview Musoni said that as caretaker of the district, they have, together with the youth, highlighted a number of key sectors that need immediate response.

"We established the key sectors that need urgent attention as education and water and sanitation in the area.

"Children in this sector, especially in Kigasha Cell, walk long distances to school and we want to construct some schools that will solve the issue,” the Minister said.

Marcel Musabyimana, the coordinator of the National Youth Council in the cell, said that they were committed to implementing what they agreed with the Minister.
