2006/07 champions APR have their hands full when they play against SC Kiyovu at Mumena stadium today afternoon.

The military side goes into today’s encounter aiming for maximum points so as to get itself on top of the national league table after registering some poor results in the first fixtures of the first leg of this year’s league.

APR currently occupies third position, a point behind table leaders Atraco and Kiyovu with 18 points each. SC Kiyovu who have only lost one game since the start of the national league last year are boosted with their new Kenyan import James Uwimana who has notched four goals thus becoming the league’s top scorer at the mean time.

Kiyovu held APR to a 2-all draw in the first leg and a goalless draw in the second of last season’s national football league.

APR coach Andia Mfutila who faced rough tests against Kiyovu in last year’s league fixtures is not even assured whether his side will display a kind of football he expects but nevertheless the DR Congo eyes maximum points.

He told Times Sport on Friday that due to fatigue from some of his influential players who were summoned to the Amavubi team for a build up against Burundi this week, he finds no other reason that would hinder his expectations from earning three points of the day.

"I don’t think my players are free from fatigue but I will have to field them in Sunday’s game because there is no other option.”

Players said above include Hegman Ngoma, Jean Marie Vianney Rukundo, Elias Uzamukunda, Elias Ntaganda, Mbuyu Twite, Jean Baptist Mugiraneza, Jean Claude Ndoli and Jean Bosco Uwacu.

However, Kiyovu coach Casa Kasambogo is confident his team will overpower the military side and take away the maximum points of the day.

"We have had enough preparations for today’s game and still the team is injury-free thus I expect three points nothing short of that,” Kasambogo said.

Elsewhere, AS Kigali hosts Atraco at Camp Kigali as Rayon Sport plays away to Marines at Umuganda stadium. Newly promoted sides Electrogaz plays away to Police at Shorongyi grounds while Military hosts Etincelles at Mironko stadium.

Southern Province giants Mukura travels to Western Province for their crucial game against Kibuye, a side which recently signed a new coach Hamisi Sogonya Kishi after Rene Kalimunda thrown in the towel early this month.
