Local comedian, Kanyombya, on December 31 and January 1, performed spectacular shows in Rusizi District, as he ushered his fans into the New Year.

The comedian, however, was astonished by a huge turn up at both events.

"My fans in Rusizi and Nyamasheke invited me to perform, but I didn’t expect such a huge turn up,” an excited Kanyombya said.

The event, which featured local artistes, including Ras Banamungu and Pacco Productions, was held at Rubavu Motel and Kamembe town.

Speaking to The New Times, Ras Banamungu, one of the organisers of the event, said the two-day event was planned to help people welcome the New Year in style.
For many revellers, watching Kanyombya perform live on stage was a dream come true.
