Students are being urged to uphold the fight against genocide ideology.

At a three day evaluation workshop that began on Thursday February at Muhazi recreational ground in Gasabo district, Fatuma Ndangiza,

the executive secretary of the Unity and Reconciliation Commission, asked students to stay at the forefront of government’s fight against genocide ideologies. The workshop was attended by university students and members of the Students’ Club for Unity and Reconciliation (SCUR).

Addressing the participants, Ndangiza urge to students become "ambassadors of unity and reconciliation."

"We should learn to evaluate and document all achievements and failures we make towards achieving this," she added

This, Ndangiza said is the best way the youth will have effectively participated in curbing the ideologies that have recently been emerging in high schools.

Also present at the function was the investigator on injustices and corruption in the office of the ombudsman

Kevin Beza, the former president of SCUR, explained how students can promote dialogue through debates in schools.

"No stone will be left unturned."
