Police appreciation of community partners

Over speeding, driving when drunk, trespassing road safety rules and regulations as well as careless driving have seriously contributed into loss of lives and serious injuries.

The awareness of citizens, sharing information from community level to Police is fundamental and through such shared responsibility and durability of national security can be assured.

It is important therefore to extend gratitude to the community for working hand in hand with police to maintain security before, during and after Christmas.

Through Community Policing, the community attitude has greatly changed this simply is evidenced by the calm situation that prevailed during the Christmas festival. The input of every citizen is greatly welcome because the Police can never work alone.

People from all works of life notably motorists and taxi drivers were highly sensitized to participate in maintaining road safety; this was respected but some few accidents cases reported towards, during and after Christmas.

National development in all aspects requires input of all citizens, this can never effectively be attained without security, and the community has all it takes to maintain its peace and stability by exchanging information in time giving a hand in all grounds to security organs.

Police strongly urges the community to continue working with the police because 2011 is very close and it should be our task to maintain calmness and save lives of Rwandans as we prepare for celebrations of the New Year.

Police also notes that, citizens ought to take security their primary concern and as a priority.
