KIGALI - Stakeholders in unity and reconciliation yesterday met to discuss implementation mechanisms of recommendations from various surveys conducted on the state of reconciliation in the country.

One of the surveys is the recently published Reconciliation barometer, which was sanctioned by the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC).

At the meeting, NURC Executive Secretary, Jean Baptiste Habyarimana, called upon partners to always maintain a spirit of hard work, to ensure that peace, unity and reconciliation are achieved in the country.

The meeting was organized by NURC, and Habyarimana said that the recommendations by the survey were assigned to various government and non-governmental institutions.

"Though our country has made a tremendous improvement regarding unity and reconciliation, we still have a long way to go and I encourage every one of us here to always feel the burden in this regard,” Habyarimana said.
