Access Bank Rwanda, one of the subsidiaries of Nigerian Access Bank Plc, has emerged the winner of this year’s edition of Citibank’s Quality Recognition Award.

The award is presented to leading financial institutions around the world, which meet the organisation’s strict correspondent banking and processing criteria.

The award is in recognition of the Bank’s flawless and error-free execution of international transfers.
Specifically, the Bank attained a straight through processing rate in excess of 98 percent for U.S dollar payments sent to Citibank, New York during the period under review.

Receiving the award on behalf of Access Bank Rwanda at the Citi Bank workshop held in the Kenyan city of Mombasa recently, Jacky Kayiteshonga, the Head of Institutional Banking said the award affirms the bank’s superior quality service.

"Good timing and accuracy are what customers expect from their bank when handling transactions and that is what our customers will continue to enjoy in Access Bank,” he said.

The Bank secured the prestigious award ahead of its contemporaries in sub-Saharan Africa by demonstrating its institutional capabilities with respect to service excellence.
Access Bank Rwanda started operations in August 2008 after Access Bank Plc took a majority stake of 75 percent in Bancor SA.

The Citigroup Quality Recognition Award is a prestigious annual award developed by Citigroup Global Transaction Services.

Access Bank Plc has a full banking subsidiary in the UK and all monetary zones across sub-Saharan Africa.
