KIGALI - The ongoing rehabilitation of city roads will be completed in March next year, months ahead of schedule, a Kigali City official has announced.
The repair exercise, stretching for 36 kilometres, was earlier projected to be completed in September next year.
A Chinese company, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), started the works in November 2009.
"They [CRBC] worked fast and they are now finalizing,” said Bruno Rangira, Kigali City Communications Director.
The Government secured funds for the project through a $30.7m loan from Exim, a Chinese bank.
The Minister of Infrastructure, Vincent Karega, had earlier said that the construction company resorted to working round the clock, so as to complete as soon as possible.
