Editor,

This is in reference to your article in your Tuesday,December 28th edition titled "Rwanda plans influential business reforms in 2011”, your business journalist, Berna Namata, aptly explained what measures will be taken by the Rwanda development Board, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, to introduce business reforms, which will ensure that Rwanda continues to be a winner in the New Year.

To keep abreast with the fast moving and changing world, it is important to review and adapt procedures and policies. Rwanda, for sure, has mastered this art and therefore will continue to be the preferred destination for trade, commerce and investments in the EAC region. Rwanda offers an attractive environment to operate in or to run a business from.

Despite its remarkable progress, Rwanda remains  largely a virgin territory for investors in the region and beyond. Across the board, there are many unexploited opportunities and, with zero tolerance to corruption, and extremely low levels of crime.

With no sectors barred to foreign investors and no restrictions on the percentage of equity they might hold, the next year will, indeed, be productive for the people of Rwanda.
