Well, most of the East Africans may claim that previous winners of the annual Tusker Project Fame, such as  Uganda’s Esther Nabaasa (2008) and our own Alpha Rwirangira (2009), have not enjoyed stellar careers as previously expected, Alpha is surely already on the soar.

The Afro-fusion star released his first song ‘Songa Mbere’ produced by Tanzania award-winning producer, Hermes, who happened to be a judge during TPF3 and 4.

The TPF star has already released several singles, including ‘Come to me,’ ‘Mama’, ‘Only & love’ and ‘Turi umwe.’

On the regional scene, Rwanda sent three representatives to the TPF4 Academy in Nairobi, namely, Elizabeth Gaga, Gaelle Atete and Gilbert Gabiro. Gaelle went farthest as she was the last contestant to be evicted from the academy. Uganda’s Davis Hillary Ntare eventually won the competition.

The Rwandan trio, if they can go on to use of the vast experience from the Academy, could break into the mainstream elite class and become more than just household names.
