In particular, several Rwandans were among the lucky artistes chosen to perform at the WC opening ceremony gala. Rwanda’s culture was also showcased at the WC cultural village. The entire one-month tournament was also screened live on giant screens around the country, courtesy of MTN, one of the main sponsors of the football competition.
Meanwhile, Rwandan actress/singer, Shanel, was voted the ‘Best Actress’ in the Kenya International Film Festival (KIFF) for her starring role in the film, ‘The Day God Walked Away’. She was also voted among the five ‘Best New Talents’, in the Francophone International Film Festival (FIFF) in Belgium.
2010 was a prizewinning for this beauty queen. On top of her movie achievements, Shanel signed a recording contract with a German digital music company, MTune.
