As expected, ‘Salax’ awards went to outstanding artistes of the year, with The Ben scooping the (Best Male Artiste), Miss Jojo (Best Female Artiste), Aline Gahongayire (Best Female Gospel Artiste), Patrick Nyamitari (Best Male Gospel Artist) and Lick Lick (Producer of the Year).

Yet, the ‘Salax’ awards event, organized by Salus Radio, was not as successful this time round as many people pointed to poor organization.

Shortly after, however, some of the winners, The Ben, and Meddy, whose song, ‘Amayobera’, both vanished in the US, where they had been invited to perform by Rwandan Diaspora. They are believed to have chosen to pursue green pastures.

On a positive note, a ray of hope beckoned during MTN’s first-ever beauty pageant. The glamorous event, organised by Kubana Events, made such a huge impact as the contestants displayed elegance, trend and talent.
