AIMABLE Bayingana will be the helm of the national cycling federation (Ferwacy) for another three years after being re-elected in Sunday’s polls at Amahoro stadium.

Festus Bizimana retained his 2nd Vice President seat while Thierry Rwabusaza and Benoit Munyankindi also held onto their positions of Secretary General and treasurer respectively.

The only significant change in the new committee is Lambert Byemayire who replaced Francois Rutayisire as 1st Vice President.

Jean Bosco Ntembe, John Rugambwa and Faustin Mparabanyi were also voted advisors.

Surprisingly, all the candidates contested unopposed and as the norm during elections in other federations, no journalist was invited to witness the elections.

This year’s highlight was the African road cycling championship.
