Overspending is not worth it
Why is it that we place so much strain on ourselves at Christmas time? For heaven’s sake, Christmas comes every 12 months, it’s not like a once in a lifetime event!

Lavish Christmas spending only gets pockets empty and families vulnerable to poverty.

Of course all those flimsy excuses to defend the worst time of spending during the year can’t take away facts that Christmas would be far better if people kept it simple and cut their coat according to the available cloth.

Here is why you should run from the, ‘Christmas lavish spending.’

Spending freaks obviously hide under the pretext of celebrating Jesus’ birthday, if I may ask, was Jesus not born in kraal? Who took Mary to a drinking spree to celebrate her son’s birth?

The birthday of Jesus should humble us enough, to avoid too much luxury. The basic here is one’s heart and how they receive the new born Christ in their life, not what they eat or how they dress up.

In any case, what justifies people who get drunk in the name of celebrating Christmas, its sarcastic, isn’t it?
Surely, people all over the globe have responsibilities and bills to settle.

Why spend your hard earned money on food, saloon, and fancy clothes while at the end of the festive season you will have bills on your table?

If Father Christmas would come with surprises like house rent, school fees for the kids, Christmas would be worth all the spending.

While you spend, don’t you think charity would be a better option? I bet when the Bible mentions, "I was hungry and you clothed me, now enter into my father’s kingdom,” it referred to reaching out to the ones in need.

Instead of buying what you don’t need, why not make Christmas memorable for your neighbour?

Do you ever realise how spending affects business? Its true that January and February are months where loses are encountered since there is no custormers, they spent all they had in December.

When you get carried away, keep in mind that all those visitors you invite will only laugh when you have nothing to feed your kids while they depart.

All those hypocritical get together parties will only make matters worse. I believe true relatives and friends have been there for you and with you throughout the year, Christmas shouldn’t act as a reminder.

The jungle party, concerts will only drain your pockets as others earn at your expense. It shouldn’t be a surprise if some leave the Christmas season with millions while others coil with no single penny.

It’s this simple, "some took great advantage of the season while others gave in to all the lavish temptations.”

Luxurious spending in the name Christmas is the highest form of irresponsibility. Spending within one’s reach is fine but once it exceeds your earnings, better skip the spending.

The ball is in your hands, spend all you want until you are penniless, after all you have never been responsible and accountable your whole life.
