Christmas and the entire festive season is here and without doubt, the mood is exuberant, excitement will be at its peak for most families and, of course, this comes with lots to drink as the public celebrates.

With heightened excitement, there is a tendency for people go over board and find themselves in situations, they would, otherwise, have preferred to avoid.

Case of drunk driving drastically increase are recorded during the festive season, leading to more road accidents. A time that would have rather been for joy, ends up becoming sorrowful, for some families.

To avoid such situations, let us celebrate with a bit of caution. We should always be in control of whatever we do, irrespective of the season.

Additionally, crimes such as break-ins take place during such seasons. Petty thieves or even robbers take advantage of large gatherings and the merry-making to sneak in, steal property and get away unnoticed. They also target homes whose owners travel to enjoy the festive season with family and friends somewhere else. 

To avoid this, let’s maintain the usual vigilance and be on the lookout for ill-intentioned persons where we may be. 

While the Police will be on the alert, it is also our responsibility to make sure that we stay within the confines of the Law to avoid unnecessary inconveniences.

Meanwhile, as we enjoy the festive season, let us not forget the less fortunate. Christmas is a universal time for sharing and celebrating.
