Champions claim default points over Etincelles

APR head into the festive season eight points clear of their closest challengers Etincelles after picking default points against the latter in yesterday’s Primus National Football League game.

The Western Province side failed to show up for the replay and risks being fined by the local football governing body (Ferwafa).

At Mumena, SC Kiyovu continued their resurgence with a well deserved 2-0 win over Marines. Defender Berch Bawuma and Dady Birori scored the goals for the green baggies who have now won their last four games.

The win moved Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s side to 13 points, one clear of Etincelles and Rayon Sport who had to dig deep for yesterday’s 1-0 victory over Musanze.

At Kicukiro turf, Police were held to a 2-all draw by new league boys La Jeunesse. It was their fifth draw of the season.

On Tuesday, struggling Muhanga secured their first point of the season after a 1-all draw against Mukura.
Amagaju and AS Kigali also played out to a 1-all in Nyamagabe.

After day seven, APR top the league charts with 21 points while Muhanga remain stuck at the bottom with a solitary point.
