KIGALI - The festive season is here! It is another time when concert organisers and artists usher their patrons into the New Year in high spirits.

The East African Party, in partnership with Sting Creative Production and Ugandan veteran singer, Halima Namakula, will host a mega end of year bash on January 1, at Amahoro Stadium’s outdoor ground.

Namakula has promoted international artists, including K-Ci & JoJo, Beenie Man, Joe and Sean Paul in the region and across Africa.

The party will start at 3p.m till 10p.m and the entrance fee is Rwf3000 and Rwf5000 in the VIP section.
Scheduled to perform are local artists, King James, Tom Close, Miss JoJo, Urban Boys, Dream Boys, Naason and J. Polly. They will be joined by Kidumu (Burundi), Radio & Weasel, Rachael K (Uganda), and Zambian artist General Ozzy.

Since it started in 2008, the ‘East African Party’ will for first time feature an international artist. She is none other than America’s beauteous, Ms Triniti.

"Big up my Rwandan fans! I’ll be in the country on January 1. Don’t miss the concert; it’s going to be off the chain, East African Party’s third edition with Ms Triniti,” Ms Triniti said on a promotional video.

The 32-year-old is currently a hitmaker in Jamaica; she sings Dancehall, Reggae and Pop.

Speaking to The New Times, Joseph Mushyoma, the boss of the ‘East Africa Party’, asked concert goers to come early, in order to help the organisers keep time.

"Security personnel have never stopped a concert before the permitted time has elapsed. It’s our responsibility to keep time to avoid disruptions,” Mushyoma said.
He said that the aim of the event was to boost the local entertainment scene, and to help Rwandans usher in the New Year in style.

"Kigali is a very clean and safe city, but it lacked the social aspect of life. That’s why I initiated the East African Party as a way of entertaining Rwandans,” he added.
