JUNIOR Wasps head coach Richard Tardy has revealed that he will hand France based midfielder Bon Fils Kabanda a starting berth in the final game of the Cecafa tri-nations (mini-Cecafa tournament) against Kenya.

Kabanda, who plays for French Ligue 1 AS Nancy’s reserve team, arrived just in time for this afternoon’s match where the winner will automatically be crowned champion although the junior wasps can still claim the title if the game ends in a draw.

Tardy believes the attacking midfielder will add steel to the team’s offence which still needs polishing before January’s Caf U-17 Championship.

Kabanda played a few games during the team’s three-week training camp in Tunisia and Tardy reckons that he is a big addition to the side.

"It’s good to have him back because he has a good footballing brain. We didn’t play to our best against Tanzania (Saturday) but we have tried to polish up our finishing in training,” the French tactician noted.

In January, Tardy’s youngsters, who are drawn in Group B, will open their campaign against Burkina Faso. Senegal and Egypt complete the group.

Group B pits reigning champions Gambia against Congo Brazzaville, Ivory Coast and Mali.

Kenya will also have their key player Collins Shivachi back for today’s tie according to the side’s head coach Bob Oyugi.

Shivachi missed their opener against Tanzania’s Serengeti Boys through injury.
