32-traffic police officers last Friday completed three-week training on road safety and accident investigation.

The training, supported by the Germany Technical Cooperation (GTZ) was officially closed by ACP John Bosco Kabera, the Commissioner for Human Resources Management and Support Services, during a function held at St. Paul in Kigali.

The training focused on the specific traffic rules, road accidents, investigation and traffic planning and management.

Kabera commended GTZ for supporting the force and appealed to the trainees to use the acquired skills to effectively fulfill the institutional noble cause of preventing death on roads.

"Unnecessary loss of lives and property can be preventable and police will continue to partner with the community to keep our roads and streets safe for all,” Kabera said.

Alphonse Nizeyimana, Kigali city vice mayor in charge of finance and economic development commended the police and GTZ for organizing this fruitful training.

He also promised that the city will offer a hand in sensitizing the residents on the need to respect and abide by traffic rules.

Present was also Peter Rimmele, GTZ country boss.
