It was an early Christmas gift for Ariane Tona, 9, who was on Sunday evening, crowned Miss Christmas 2010, during a Children Christmas Party, at Bambino Games Park in Kabuga.

The P.4 pupil from Kigali Parents School was crowned by Miss Rwanda, Grace Bahati, and Miss East Africa, Cynthia Akazuba.

She took home gift products worth Rwf 50,000, and unidentified amount of money, courtesy of Chemi & Cotex.

In the spirit of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, Miss Rwanda 2010, Bahati, hosted a special Christmas party for kids that was characterised by colour, games, catwalk and a spectacular musical performance.

Speaking to The New Times ahead of the event, Bahati said the function was dedicated to the children, to help them enjoy the festive season.

The party started at 1pm, with a comedy presented by local comedian, Kanyombya, who entertained the kids to his rib-breaking jokes.

The other highlight of the concert was music; and first on stage was Lil G. He belted out a number of songs, not forgetting his hit ‘Akagendo.’

Lil G poured his soul onto the stage and was overjoyed when the audience cheered him up and danced to his tune.

The youngest local artist, Babu, did not disappoint either. His electrifying performance left many yearning for more.
In a lovely rendition, the 9-year-old rapper wowed the crowd with his fine performance of ‘Hip-Hop 4 Life’, and ‘Rwanda my country.’

Award winning R&B star, Tom Close, put up a grand rendition of his ‘Ndacyagukunda’, ‘Harimpanvu’ and ‘Mama w’Abana’ featuring the Goodlyfe Crew. He certainly impressed the crowd.
