Gaelle Atete, the new girl on the block, shot to fame after participating in the recently concluded Tusker Project Fame season four, securing herself the fifth position, out of 15.

Gaelle is a law student at ULK and loves chilling with her friends, travelling and playing basketball. She describes herself as an honest, sociable but shy girl.

Her favourite genres of music include rock, country, RnB, Jazz and Zouk.
She cites Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Lokua Kanda, Angelique Kidjo and Brenda Fassie as her favourite musicians.

The 21-year-old TPF star said that music is her passion, and that she participated in the Tusker Project Fame, in order to expand her musical repertoire and was also hoping to eventually win the grand prize.

"Although, I missed the jackpot, I gained a lot of experience from the Academy. For example, how to write songs, stage performances and how to interact with the fans,” Gaelle said.

She, however, revealed that if she had won the Kshs 5 million (about Rfw35 million), she would have loved to open a studio, and promote underground musicians.

"There are very many underground artists in the country who lack financial capacity to record their compositions,” Gaelle said.

"…I also wanted to support orphans, especially those of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.”

The beauteous songster, who sings at Restoration Church, promised her fans great stuff to be out soon, but insisted she would concentrate on gospel music only.

Gaelle was born on June 17, 1989, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and she is the third in the family of five children.
Davis Ntare from Uganda was crowned East Africa’s newest super star.
