KIGALI - Imbuto Foundation, yesterday, kicked-off the 10th youth forum dubbed,  A New Dawn. The forum, brought together 300 Rwandans aged between 25 and 40 from within Rwanda and the Diaspora

The two-day event started with a visit to the Kigali Genocide memorial centre, Gisozi.

According to Imbuto Foundation, the objectives of the forum are to bring together youth with different perspectives on Rwanda’s history to discuss their role in nation-building; to restore hope in youth adversely affected by events in our history; and to help them understand that they are not prisoners of their painful past.

"The forum will provide a platform for open expression and sharing experiences with the aim of finding a common understanding,” a statment from Imbuto read in part.

"Imbuto Foundation believes that if Rwandan youth are to be empowered for nation-building, then it is imperative to have open and honest dialogue between youth on sensitive and debatable historical issues, facilitated by various experts.”

The forum topics being discussed include, Rwandan identity, political and ideological dimensions and attitude and behavioural issues in society.
