I wish to appeal to our police in Nyagatare District to investigate, expeditiously, the incident that occurred on Monday night this week in which unidentified motorist was shot dead by a suspected passenger. This is a sad incident and I want to send my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased person.

Our district is known as a peaceful area and we cannot tolerant wrongdoers to cause havoc and get away with it. The incident reportedly happened when unidentified passenger turned violent and opened fire behind the motorist in Mukama sector, killing him instantly.

As a resident of the area, I regret the tragic incident that happened in our district and this is an isolated case which makes me wonder what is happening. The deceased was transporting the killer from Rukomo to Gatunda.

What is annoying is that this assailant managed to escape. Police should work hand in hand with the area leaders to arrest this suspect and save our district from bad image.
