Tanzaniau2019s hot actresses hit Kigali streets in style

It was a huge surprise for Tanzania’s film stars, who had no clue about how popular they were in the country.

The five stars, including, Steven Charles Kanumba and Vincent Kigosi, jetted into the country, yesterday, and received a massive welcome by ecstatic fans, as the guests toured downtown Kigali on foot. The actors were in the company of two other film personalities.

In an interview, Tanzania’s leading actor, Kanumba, told The New Times that he was speechless and surprised about the reception.

"I’m very overjoyed. I didn’t know we had a huge fan base in Rwanda,” Kanumba said. "People have been crying out and screaming our names. I’m really excited and I love the fans so much!”

He revealed his plans for opening a movie store in Kigali, which will be selling his original films to avoid plagiarism.
Kanumba is not a newcomer in Tanzania’s film industry; he has been in the business for eight years as a professional actor.

The 26-year-old star previously has worked with Nollywood, starring in five movies with Nigeria’s top actors.
Steve has bagged several awards, including ‘Best Actor Tanzania’, and ‘Best Artist of the Year 2007/2008’ by the Tanzanian Federation of Artists (SHIWATA).

After their brief tour of Kigali, the crew headed to Goma and Bukavu in the DR Congo for the launch of ‘Off Side.’
The country representative of Steps Company - a filmmakers’ promoting agency, Shemu Nzayinambaho, said the Company will soon open its office in the country, to cultivate a relationship between Rwanda and Tanzania’s filmmakers.
