Editor,

As telecom companies continue to carry out vigorous promotions in a bid to attract clients, the big winner will obviously be the mobile user. Competition is something  healthy in business because it acts as a catalyst to deliver best services to clients.

For instance, this week alone, MTN has put up Rwf100 million for grabs and the operator will give out up to Rwf1 million daily to a lucky client and Rwf20 million will go to the lucky winner after two months.

Tigo, the other operator has also stepped in and it is offering a Toyota Fortuner, worth Rwf35 million. Another operator with the lowest calling tariff on the market, Rwandatel has introduced a new bonus promotion for its prepaid mobile users.

This bonus is based on a  recharge, giving a user 50 percent bonus based on the value of the amount one recharges.

As a user, I will now have options depending on who offers me the best service. The choice is in my hands. Once a license is issued to a fourth operator, many clients will obviously buy cell phones.
