Patrick Mweheire, the chief executive of Renaissance Capital of Kenya said last week that the bank is strongly considering investing in Rwanda.

Renaissance Capital is a leading investment bank focused on the emerging markets with a presence in sub-Saharan Africa as well as Russia.

Mweheire revealed this in the sidelines of an event hosted by Rwanda’s High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya, to showcase Rwandan products to a select group of about 60 prominent Kenyan business executives, Embassies and High Commissions accredited to Rwanda.

"(Coming to Rwanda) is something that we are strongly considering and we will be looking at next year to actually open some presence in thee country,” Mweheire said.

"We are doing a few other things, some of which I can’t share – but we are extremely active in trying to bring Renaissance Capital to Rwanda,” he added.

The bank is the co-transaction advisors for the on-going Bralirwa IPO. During the event, Mweheire made a presentation on the Bralirwa IPO.
