Musoni tours Ruhango development initiatives

RUHANGO - The Minister of Local Government, James Musoni, has urged residents and local leaders in Ruhango to collaborate in fostering growth and development in the District.

Minister Musoni made the remarks while touring development activities in Ntongwe and Kinazi sectors on Tuesday.

Musoni was particularly impressed by rural development activities in the area, such as land consolidation, cassava and rice production and the entrepreneurship projects by individual residents.

"It is evident that residents have a vision for development and a sign that there has been commitment to hard working,” he said, adding that this demonstrates their commitment to national growth.

It was brought to the attention of the Minister that some residents, either had no access to water or were paying high costs to get water. Musoni also heard that the residents urgently needed electricity to boost income generation projects.

Musoni requested the provincial and district officials to follow up on the water and electricity needs.

The Minister was in the company of Southern Province Governor, Fidele Ndayisaba and district officials, toured agricultural innovations of residents, and later on visited the construction site of 5.5bn Kinazi Hospital.
