AFTER a second round exit in the singles category, Anatole Bizimana is not about to squander another opportunity after storming the East Africa 18 & Under doubles’ semi-finals.
Bizimana, who teamed up with Austria’s Thomas Haeusler made light work of Moroccans Ismael Lahlou and Khail Naji 6-1, 6-0 in yesterday’s quarter-final at Cercle Sportif.
Meanwhile, Mele Bizimana and Christian Rudasingwa lost in the decisive set (11-9) against the Swedish pair of Andreas Moltheleth and Adam Schmut. After losing the first set 3-6, the youngsters fought back to take the second set 6-4.
Kenyans Dennis Ochieng and Derrick Onyancha are still in contention after beating Amand Kagoma and Idris Ndayisenga of Burundi 6-3, 6-2.
The second leg winds up this Saturday.
