The Chief of Defence Staff Lt. Gen. Charles Kayonga (L) talking to the delegation from the Kenya National Defence College.

Dear Editor,

I was very happy to read The NewTimes article in yesterday’s issue which reported that Rwanda has some of the most efficient and modern defence institutions, which make the country a good case study for other countries on the continent, to learn from in regard to policies and strategies on security.

I have travelled in our region quite often and seen how other security organs behave. Most of them are  very indisciplined. The common crime which is not in Rwanda is that of soliciting bribes from civilians.

Our RDF and police officers have received international accolades because of their exceptional discipline especially in Darfur. Carry on, we are proud of you RPF.
