Vodacom boosts Challenge Cup
TANZANIA’s leading cellular network company, Vodacom has boosted the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup with a sponsorship package of about Rwf80m. Even after East African Breweries Limited (EABL)’s lucrative offer - $450,000 (approx. Rwf 643m), the regional football governing body was still Rwf200m short on the tournament budget.

TANZANIA’s leading cellular network company, Vodacom has boosted the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup with a sponsorship package of about Rwf80m.
Even after East African Breweries Limited (EABL)’s lucrative offer - $450,000 (approx. Rwf 643m), the regional football governing body was still Rwf200m short on the tournament budget.
The funds have been used to cater for the teams air tickets, accommodation, internal transportation and general logistics among others.
This year’s edition attracted twelve teams; nine regulars and three guest sides namely Ivory Coast, Malawi and Zambia.
