RWANDA’s cricket governing body, RCA will this Saturday celebrate its 10th anniversary, according to the body’s president Charles Haba.
The celebrations will be graced by Africa’s Cricket Association (ACA) head Cassim Suliman and the Minister of Sports and Culture Joseph Habineza among others.
Haba also told Times Sport that RCA is thrilled with the way the game has evolved in the past decade and like RCA’s theme -‘growing with every step’, the target is to become a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), the world’s cricket governing body.
"With the exception of Burundi, we are the only East African country that is still an affiliate member of the ICC so the target is to graduate into a full member,” he noted.
Presently, RCA boasts of a competitive 10-team league, with over 1000 players in the country.
The body is also one of the few sporting federations with a fully fledged office, employed staff and a running website.
