Kigali City Mayor, Aisa Kirabo Kacyira is spot on when she urges leaders at all levels to be mind-ful of their duties if the country’s goals are to be achieved. 

True, I think leadership is about guiding the people you lead to achieve desired goals.Great leaders are role models who demonstrate the basics of performing at a high level.

We have had ugly cases in the past where several district leaders and government officials were involved in the mismanagement of public funds.

As a result, some were fired in disgrace while others ended up in court and later jailed after it was proved that they, indeed, committed crimes.

It becomes unacceptable when leaders who are supposed to ensure the rule of the law become the same people who violate it.
