BUFFALOES Coach Gerald Nsenga has praised his team for lifting a fourth successive league title.

The Remera based side was crowned league champions on Saturday after a fruitful season that saw them amass 29 points from eight games. Although they were clear favorites right from pre-season, Nsenga hailed the players for not being complacent.

"There was always that worry the team would be complacent and throw away the league title but I’m glad that they held it firm till the end,” he said, adding, "It is a sign that there is great character and mental strength in the side.”

This year, eight teams took part in the league and they included Lion de fer, Grizzlies, Buffaloes, Sharks, Gorillas, Tumba College, Puma and ISAE Busogo.

The league was one-legged due to financial constraints in the local rugby federation.

The champions capped their exhilarating season with the Buffaloes 7s title after thrashing Lion de fer 62-39 in Saturday’s final.

It was their third win in a row. The league resumes next year in April.
