2000 trees were planted, Saturday, by the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Rwanda staff in Kabuga Sector, Gasabo District.

KCB staff went out of their offices to demonstrate their commitment to the protection of the environment by planting trees.

The team from the several bank branches in Kigali and the Head office, clad in Green T-shirts, walked from Kabuga to Mulindi while planting trees.

Speaking at the tree planting exercise, Gloria Nyambok the Head of Business development at KCB-Rwanda who was leading the team said that the exercise aims at giving back to the community what they think will benefit it.

"We have been working with Gasabo District to plant trees since last year. Last year we planted 1600 trees and now we have come back to fill the gaps,” she added.

Nyambok explained that this year they are planting trees not only in Gasabo District but across the country. Every branch in the country will be planting trees within the local district.

"Today we are planting 2000 trees in Kigali and in upcountry areas 2000 trees will be planted so it will be 4000 trees planted across the country,” she revealed.
 She pointed out that KCB will continue to show the way in spearheading environmental regeneration through tree planting.

"We have to give back to the community and we thank them for allowing us to exist, without them we can’t exist. We shall always support and give back to the communities,” she noted.

KCB supports other areas like education and health care.
